I’m Deb Schell, a travel writer, and photographer, sharing my experiences one trip at a time. I’m on the road to self-discovery on this journey we call life. My most recent piece in the Matador Network highlights mindful destinations in Milwaukee.
Previously a published writer for Travel Pulse, I’ve crafted photo slide shows highlighting “Places to See and Things to Do” as well as writing feature stories about the Location Independent movement and activities like rafting in whitewater.
During the spring of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, I built an online virtual global community called Find Calm Here. It started with small, in-person events locally in the Harrisburg area but shifted to online virtual events during the mandated “shelter in place” in the US and around much of the world. The community offers FREE LIVE Virtual Events each week highlighting a Find Calm Here Partner who leads a discussion around finding calm in daily life. The exclusive community is membership-based and will offer support for those who want to “find calm” and make changes in their life. Learn more on our about page.
In addition, I’ve exhibited my artwork in over 20 venues in the Central Pennsylvania area from 2012-17, ending with my last show at my favorite venue, Gamut Theater, which you can find me volunteering at during many of their shows throughout the year and at their annual Shakespeare in the Park. Check out my blog CaptureMyBestLife.com to learn more about my adventures.
