Super Reader Floyd Stokes visits Fink Elementary School

Floyd Stokes is a writer and literacy activist, who travels all over the country in a mask and cape, reading his books to children and encouraging them to get excited about reading.
Stokes visited Fink Elementary School on Thursday, Feb. 24, and held an assembly for kindergarten to second-graders. Stokes has written many childrens books, which he read during his visit, including a new book entitled “My Glasses” which will be available on April 14.
Stokes, who now lives in Harrisburg, grew up with little in the world on a farm in Mississippi. Stokes formed the nonprofit American Literacy Corp. in 2000 after realizing his calling to community service. He previously owned a record store in Carlisle, Pa.
